To find the posts containing information you want, scroll down to the "Search This Blog" area on the left side of the blog -- click on a relevant keyword to reach the posts on topics that interest you. The larger the word appears, the more posts there are on the subject.
Additional blog features include:
- Weekend Getaways: click the Weekend Getaways tab at the top of the screen to discover vacation destinations near where you live. I'll never have time to visit all the wonderful destinations out there, so guest posts are always welcome! The information on this page will continue to grow as more destinations are added, so stop by when planning your trip. Contact me through the Share Your Story page.
- Dream Destinations: click the Dream Destinations tab at the top of the blog to read about dream destinations around the globe. I've been to some amazing places through the years, but I can't possibly visit them all. If you took that DREAM VACATION, please share your guest post recommending the best of the best to the other readers.
- Community: Grab a cool glass of lemonade and click the Community tab at the top of the page to engage in forum discussions with other people who enjoy talking about travel. You do have to sign in to this page through facebook or by email to join the discussion. I hope you'll join the conversation -- the more the merrier!
Of course, the most important part of this site is you -- the reader!
- The content improves with every comment you make so share your wisdom by commenting (TIPS are always welcome!).
- Ask a question -- by comment or email. I do my very best to address those in subsequent posts. If I don't have the answer, we can always ask our friends in the Community.
- If you really like a post, please share it with others. I don't write just because I like to write (though it's true, I do). I hope what I write is helpful and relevant to others. So, please, share favorite posts on your facebook, through twitter, google plus (That's what those little buttons at the end of each post are all about. Click on the "f" button to go facebook... you get the idea!).
- Finally, if you LOVE what you read here (if you don't please email suggestions for improvement), please sign up to follow and/or receive blog posts by email and visit often. Share the blog with the vacation planners and dreamers you know -- so they can participate too!
In a nutshell, Family Travels on a Budget is about you! And me! Making memories on this journey we call life.
Happy travels -- whether around the globe or around town!

Sites like this are important! People are sometimes overwhelmed with traveling and don't even realize all the money they can save along the way. Saving money is my favorite part; saving on hotel stays, local (FREE) attractions, eating, etc., is all part of the fun :-)
You're building a great site, here! I think it's a great idea. I love to travel and it would be fun to see and talk about other people's experiences.
We're on such a tight budget, we don't even travel! Only to the supermarket and back.
If you can still travel, your budget can't be that tight? Can it?
True. Our budget is not that tight anymore, for which I am grateful. When it was that tight, we had some fabulous staycations, clearing furniture out of the way to "camp in." Now we budget carefully, and scrutinize options for the best deals we can find. There is a "staycations" keyword to search for more ideas.
Every time I stop by your site I have a sudden desire to hop in my car and start an impromptu vacation. Dare to dream!
Yay for inspiration! Hopefully the planning tips help too! :)
I have a friend whose husband is great at hunting travel deals...You remind me of him :D I think it's great that your goal is to help people with travel tips s they can enjoy while staying sane!
love your tips and info! I always wonder who are the people who pay full price?!
I a your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
