Years ago I read a novel set in Six Mile, SC, a tiny town that actually exists near Clemson University. Six Mile. It really exists! Here are some others, real towns with CRAZY names!

- Jot 'Em Down, Texas (close to Pecan Gap, by the way!)
- Two Egg, Florida (located in the Florida panhandle)
- Burnt Water, Arizona (hmmmm.... retirement village for bad cooks?)
- Truth or Consequences, New Mexico (imagine teaching kids to write their address)
- Hell, Michigan (High school in Hell, MI must be miserable!)
Street names can be just as bad. Here in the Raleigh, NC area, one that really cracks me up is Jones Sausage Road. I've lived here 11 years, and I still giggle sometimes as I drive by the Jones Sausage exit from Interstate 40. How about these:
- No Name Street in Turnersville, New Jersey
- Psycho Path in Traverse City, Michigan (winner of the wacky street title in 2006)
- Farfrompoopen Road in Tennessee (it leads to Constipation Ridge. Really!)
- Tater Peeler Road, also in Tennessee
- Divorce Court in Heather Highlands, Pennsylvania
Researching this post, the strangest place I could find is Zzyzx Road in Zzyzx, California. That's just weird!

Those are great! You've got to think that some of these are "private property"!! How could they let some of these be public? LOL There used to be one we would pass and we would repeat it's name and laugh every time we would go under it. Something like Fangdangler or something. I can't remember now!
Oh my gosh, I think I saw that road in CA somewhere on the drive to Vegas. Or maybe on the way to Arizona. I don't remember, but I know I've seen street signs for that road!! Lol! Here in PA is one that has me completely scratching my head...Intercourse, PA. Must have been a man who named that town. Haha...Just kidding...
I can't think of any funny ones in my town but they did something similar to this on the news last week and I was cracking up over some of the horrible names.
Oh I love these! I have actually been through Truth and Consequences and there really IS a place called Intercourse, PA! Can you believe it?

We drive to Maine and pass Mash Pea on the North East - could be Maine or Mass? SO many funny names - I will write some down on our next trip and return here and tell you.

Except for Divorce Court, these are all "real roads." I found a lot of private property signs that were quite interesting, though. :D
