Weekend Getaways: Richmond, VA

There’s no surprise that I’m in love with Richmond, VA. I have lived here my whole life and soak up as much of our "little" city every day.


I have family all over this RVA and grew up as the daughter of a homebuilder. He has built a home in the East End, West End, Northside and Southside.




As a REALTOR® I am able to learn even more about what this amazing city offers. It’s not hard for me to spread my love of this place because I think Richmond truly speaks for itself. We have everything you need and close to everything you will want.


If you haven’t already, you should definitely stop by our town. Here’s a quick tour with some fantastic places to see.


Where to Stay:

     5) Can Can $$. Serving French food all week long.

Where to Shop:

Where to Learn: 

     1) Virginia Museum for Fine Arts - Admission to permanent exhibits is free. The museum is open
          365 days a year.
     2) Virginia’s State Capitol - Admission is free. The website offers downloadable guides, capitol area
          maps, history of the Capitol and parking information.
     3) Richmond Canal Walk - Admission is free. The canal walk is open 365 days per year, 24 hours
         per day. Brown's Island, part of the walk, is open sunrise to sunset every day unless closed for a
         special event. The website offers information on handicap accessibility.
     4) Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden - $$. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas
         Day.  See the website for ticket pricing and special events offered throughout the year.
     5) Maymont Park, a 100-acre American estate - General admission is free. This Suggested donation
         for special events and activities. See the website for operating hours and special events.

Would love to visit Richmond someday with our family. Great post, gives us some must sees when we finally make it down there.
